2011 Nuages Pinot Noir

Named in tribute to one of winemaker Jay’s favorite gypsy jazz tunes, "Nuages" Pinot Noir is our Chehalem Mountains blend. Nuages (French for “clouds”) also pays homage to the moderating influence of Oregon’s autumn cloud cover, which slows ripening to allow for the long hang time that creates fully developed flavor.

The 2011 Nuages includes barrels from the Adams, Lia’s and Olenik vineyards, all of which are our neighbors on Chehalem Mountain. It has a graceful power on the palate, with very pure fruit accented by captivating spice and herbal notes. The structure is firm and dense, as is typical of this geologically diverse AVA, and there is good length to the finish. 2011 was the latest recorded harvest in the Willamette Valley's history. These wines are built for continuing aging and work very well with food pairings.
