The Abbey Ridge vineyard is surely one of the Willamette valley's finest and most elegant. The vineyard shows a pure and refined expression of the Dundee Hills AVA, highlighting the bright floral and savory aroma characteristic of Jory soils, with a delicate and persistent finish on the palate.

The J. Christopher winery and our estate vineyard, Appassionata, are located in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, a beautiful growing region of more than 100 square miles, located just 19 miles from Portland's city center and 45 miles from the coast. Elevation in this AVA ranges from 200 to 1,633 feet, and temperatures and rainfall can vary widely. The soil in this AVA is amazing, encompassing everything from sedimentary sea beds to red volcanic soils to glacial sediment. In our own vineyard, Appassionata, we have counted 11 different soil types. With the variations in aspect and soil, we have at least 10 or 12 distinctly different terroir possibilities to work with. It's a really interesting piece of property geologically, which makes it fascinating viticulturally as well.

The Bieze Vineyard is located on the east slope of the Eola Amity Hills AVA adjacent to the famous Seven Springs Vineyard. We have worked with this vineyard since 2011 and this is the fourth vintage we have declared a single vineyard Pinot Noir from this site. Nicknamed “Clos de Bieze” by our friend Nicholas Potel this vineyard has really come into its own over the last few vintages. Showing more finesse and elegance it is the feminine ideal of Pinot Noir from this terroir. There is a purity of fruit here that I find amazing. It has become one of my favorite wines in the cellar.

The Corrine Vineyard, formerly know as the Olenik Vineyard, is comprised of both volcanic and sedimentary soils. This 30 plus acre vineyard is now farmed biodynamically by its new owners at Cooper Mountain. Wines from the Corrine Vineyard tend to have power and structure due to the warm nature of the vineyard.

The Kolb Vineyard is a 2.5 acres vineyard nestled in the Dundee Hills and home to our friends Bill & Shelley Kolb. This dry farmed all Pommard clone vineyard was planted almost 30 years ago and ranges from 410ft to 490ft in elevation. 2018 was our first vintage working with their gorgeous fruit and we look forward to many more!

Lia's Vineyard is the top third of Rex Hill's former Jacob Hart Estate planted in the late 1980's. Our blocks are consistent to Jory soil and the Wadenswil clone therefore tend to be softer than the Corrine Vineyard, the former middle third of Jacob Hart Estate that we source from as well.

Medici Vineyard was planted by Hal and Dotty Medici in 1976, making it one of the oldest vineyards in the Willamette Valley. It is consistent of Jory (Volcanic) soil. The vineyard has elevations starting at 500ft and topping out at about 900ft. We were so delighted to be sourcing Pinot Noir & Riesling from the historic site in 2015 that we took over the farming in 2016.
